Movies!

Well, it's not the drive in, but we had family movie time the other day:

Well, strictly speaking that's not true either. Meaghan and Gregory and I sat down to watch a movie that I downloaded from the new movie service in iTunes, and we watched about five minutes of The Wild, and then Gregory got bored and played with his legos. He still needs the whole switch-scenes-every-thirty-seconds thing that he gets from Elmo to keep him interested. Well, maybe someday he'll watch the whole thing. (Unfortunately, we had to watch it on my computer until I can figure out how to get the picture to show up on my TV. I think I have the wrong cord or something.)

Already embracing the new movie service, eh? What did you think about it? Does it work well? Did it take a long time to download? Just curious.

It took about an hour to download at work. (I'm not sure what our connection speed is here, but it's faster than at home.) Teh quality is pretty good; I didn't notice a difference between dvd quality and what I downloaded. It's fairly intuitive, and now I could even watch it on my ipod if I wanted to. Instead, I may just download the poker game apple made for ipods. The only glitch is that I'm having troubles connecting my MacBook Pro to our TV.

I probably won't buy any more movies, in part because Gregory's not quite ready for a feature film yet, and in part because we just don't watch movies enough for it to be worth the money.
