Maybe Gregory isn't as clueless as we think he is regarding his soon-to-arrive little sister. He makes the sign for baby a lot and wants to look at my tummy. This week, he watched intently as a friend of mine made her baby laugh. The experience seems to have unleashed a furry of paternal/big brother feelings which he has funneled into taking care of Pooh Bear. Up until then, he would make all his animals play in the exersaucer or play the toy panio, etc. But now Pooh Bear eats his meals with Gregory, drinks from Gregory's sippy cup, and wears Gregory's clothes. I didn't suggest any of this behavior to him. He also made Jon put a diaper on Pooh Bear and takes Pooh Bear on long walks in his play grocery cart. And now Pooh Bear even prays and kisses icons with Gregory. I'm glad he has something to hug other other than his sister when she arrives. Unfortunately, his hugs still involve throwing himself on the other person with such force that he ends up sitting on babies. And he loves to hug babies.
Here is Gregory watching his favorite character, Elmo, with his favorite teddy, Pooh Bear.

That's so cute...
Oh, and somehow I missed the big news about the new baby sister on the way!!! CONGRATS!!! We'll have to meet her when Eric and I move in January. Am already working on Ingrid to visit us all in the Twin Cities to meet your baby and a new cousin too. Now just have to start working on Janet too. If only it weren't so hard to make the case to visit when it's really.really.cold!
Last I heard, everyone was going to come up here in July for the 4th. Should be fun times if it works out. But in any case, yes we need to get together when you're here.
