First week of classes

The first week of classes is over. At the end of the week, Meaghan and Gregory came to visit me. Here they are in the hallway of my department:

By the way, while I don't have a window in my office, if I go down the hall and into the stairwell, I can see the main quad on campus through this window:

Usually Gregory runs around campus a little when they visit. Here they are outside of the John Roach Center for Humanities building, where philosophy takes up one floor:

My students are great. I have two very different sections: My first is an all freshman, mostly girls section, and nearly all of them are majoring in journalism. My second section is an all upper class, mostly men, almost all business and marketing majors, section. I really like both sections and am excited to teach them. If you're interested in seeing a website for the class that I'm using as an experiment, you can go here. It's called a wiki--like Wikipedia--and all the students can contribute to it for extra credit. We'll see how it goes.

Nice photos of campus, it looks like IU! Except the hallway is a lot longer and bigger...plenty of running space for Gregory!
