Anniversary

Meaghan and I finally celebrated our fourth aniversary yesterday. A colleague of mine was nice enough to watch Gregory for about three hours. Before dinner we took a walk around a neighborhood in between the school and downtown Saint Paul, eventually making our way to the cathedral of Saint Paul, which overlooks the city.

If it's not obvious from those pictures, the cathedral is huge. Maybe this picture of Meaghan will put things in perspective:

As I said, the cathedral overlooks downtown Saint Paul, which you can see in the backround of this picture:

We walked along historic Summit Ave., with lots of very expensive mansions. Several of them were getting remodelled, and several were for sale. One, which apparently needed lots of work, was selling for $750,000. One, which apparently needed a little less work, was selling for 2 million. On a little street just off Summit there was a cute town house for sale, three bedrooms and three bathrooms for $600,000.

We ate at a nice Italian place, La Grolla. (We had seafood for the first time in a long time!) Then after dinner we walked along Grand Ave. to the Grand Ole Creamery and had brownie sundaes. It was a lovely evening with the most beautiful woman in the world. While we love being with our son, it is also great to spend time with just each other, talking about adult things with adult voices. I am so lucky to be blessed with such a lovely and supportive family.

It's already the 4th? Wow! Great photos, & I like Meaghan's shirt, or what I can see of it!

oh geez, Summit Ave out of your price range?! I don't think I've ever seen such mansions as on that street. The funny thing is that every once in awhile there will be a small, normal-looking house in between the gargantuan ones. I don't know how they afford the taxes... Anyway, I haven't been to Grand Ole Creamery, must.go.soon (once we move)- so yummy! And yes, Cathedral way massive.

Happy (belated) anniversary, sounds like you guys had a lovely time.

St Paul ROCKS! Can't wait to be there ourselves.
