We've been working with Gregory to have him tell stories, which is apparently a big step in literacy skills. Today on the way to church we saw a flat bed truck with an SUV on top. Gregory asked why the SUV was on the truck, and Meaghan said, "I don't know. Why don't we tell a story about how it got there?" She went first. When it was Gregory's turn, Emmie chimed in with a demand that the story include her pink pony. So Gregory said, "Yeah! The SUV sees the pony. The pony says "Neeiighh!" And then, BOOM! Doo-doo-doo. The SUV broke down." Who knew pink ponies could throw bombs? (Doo-doo-doo is the sound that his now-favorite video game, the old fashioned, Nintendo Mario Bros. game, plays when he loses the game.)
The other day I pointedly asked Gregory, "Why did you pee in your pants, Gregory?" "Umm, I don't know." "You know that you should use the bathroom, so why didn't you?" "Ummm." "Gregory, why?" "Umm, because I said so!"
