Baptism

Stephen was baptized a few weeks back when my mom and Meaghan's parents were in town. In addition to the grandparents, we were blessed to have wonderful Godparents, Steven and Ana, for baby Stephen, members of our Church, and several of my colleagues at SLU out for the occassion. Father Daniel performed the ceremony beautifully.

Here's Stephen with Ana right after the emersion into the water:

And here is the Chrismation:

The kids were great. Well, Gregory slept most of the time:

Right before the baptism I woke him up by asking him if he wanted to see baby Stephen get dunked in water; that seemed to do the trick as he shot his head up long enough to see it all happen. Emmie was also good. She likes to tell the story about how Stephen kicked his feet really hard in between emersions. I would post a picture of Meaghan and Emmie during the baptism, but the only one I have of them makes them appear under the influence. Instead, here's one of Stephen with his Godparents:

And, despite my insistence that, on the day of the baptism, I type up the service for everyone to read and then go to Kinkos an hour before we were supposed to be there to copy it, and hence in spite of the fact that we were about a half an hour late to our own son's baptism, it all went off fairly smoothly. From what I understand, a couple of people glanced at the booklet I made, but everyone enjoyed the lasagna that Meaghan made a week before hand.
