Our New City

We are venturing out to our new surroundings now that we are more settled. We are lucky to have moved from one family-friendly city to another -- and we even have another free zoo. It's a lot bigger and hotter than we are used to, but we'll adapt. The main zoo attractions are popsicles, the train, and the elephants (in that order).

Emmie graciously shares her popsicle with Gregory at the zoo:

We live within a 10 minute walk distance of the botanical gardens. Every Wednesday night during the summer, admittance is free and there is a live concert. We went this week and on 4th of July (it was free that day too). While the kids sat in their strollers, Jon and I wore ourselves walking through the gardens. They were beautiful and peaceful. The kids don't notice the plants that much, but Gregory loves the climbing sculptures and they both enjoy feeding the fish. There is also a kid area that is more play than plants. I expect we'll spend a lot of time there in the future.

Here they are interacting with the interactive sculptures.

And finally, there is a big park with a playground and wading pool near our apartment. For some reason, Gregory never wants to go to the pool, but once he gets there, he has a good time.
