I tried to explain to Gregory why some contemporary metaphysicians think possible worlds are needed for a metaphysics of modality. His response? The infamous incredulous stare:

I'd like to think he gets it from his dad. (In fact I'm working on a paper right now with a working title of "Modality without Possible Worlds.")
