It's that cold.

We don't have a thermometer at our house, but the old window in Gregory's room provides a crude weather gauge. When the temps are around freezing, the window fogs up. At about the single digits, the condensation turns to ice. And during a big cold snap, the whole window is frozen.

After a brief thaw, the temperature is plunging today:

Other informal weather hints: Gregory doesn't mind wearing a hat and mittens when it's below about 25 F. And you know it's super cold (like today) when I offer to drive Jon home from work. He didn't want to make the kids have to go outside, so he declined. And thus we learned a new weather hint.

Jon's eyebrows freeze when he walks home from work in -9 F/-35 wind chill:

Brrr...I'm glad I don't have to be in that cold. That's colder than when I was on Aconcagua. Meaghan, if you can survive the Minnesota cold, you can certainly climb Aconcagua. It might even seem balmy most days on the mountain.
Stay warm
