Here's a post about kids getting sick. If you get grossed out easily, stop reading now!
I went to Bloomington, Indiana last week to work on a co-authored paper with Tim (my Ph.D. advisor). While I was away, Meaghan and the kids got sick. To give you a sense of what Meaghan's time was like, here's an email she sent me:
"The day was fine, though both kids are sick. Emmie started the day by drinking a bottle of gatorade, barfing it up, and then happily playing with her gatorade vomit while I hunted for something to clean it up with. She's like Gregory in that she doesn't seem to feel that sick despite the obvious symptoms. Later she ate a little applesauce, asked for more, paused to wretch, then asked for more again. She was kind of cranky and fragile at times, but not that bad. Gregory is feeling a lot better. I kept him on mostly gatorade throughout the day. He took a huge nap, which seemed to help quite a bit, but of course now [10:30pm] he's still not quite asleep.
We walked to Widmer this morning to get the gatorade, popsicles, and jello. I almost called someone to get it for me, but I'm glad we went because all 3 of us were glad to get out of the house. When we got back, Emelia showed me that she only had one mitten so we retraced out steps... all the way back to Widmer. But like I said, it was nice to get out of the house."
She's glad to have me back to help, but now I'm sick. On the positive side, at least I won't play in anyone's gatorade vomit.
