Here's two pictures of my typical mornings. Jon runs out to catch the bus at around 7:45, and if Gregory oversleeps, he's pretty upset about missing his oppurtunity to see Dad. Jon's sporting his new professorial look, which is a fun change from Old Navy t-shirts.
I told a lot of people that Gregory was going to get an intensive training in discipline once we moved. He has been used to the free-spirited environment of daycare. Hopefully, we'll be able to thwart some of the Terrible Twos behavior that we see creeping up, like grabbing the bannister on the way up the stairs so I can't carry him to bed. I'm happy to report, that despite his fast-developing Terrible Twos, he is doing quite well. He inherited Jon's strong dislike of being bossed -- down to the indignant scowl -- so I'm learning to phrase his rules carefully and calmly. (I.e., "Gregory, we don't put our hands in the birdbath water" instead of "Aaah! Stop splashing in that gross water!") Our latest endeavor is teaching Gregory "Stop" when he wanders/runs out of our view in stores. So far, he thinks we are saying "Stomp". He's very obedient about stomping, which slows him down enough to catch up most of the time, but there's room for improvement.

Wow, John looks so professorial and professional. Is Gregory saying more words now, in addition to understanding more words?
Saying more words? How about saying one word? You know, he just doesn't feel like talking. Occassionally we hear some sound come out of his mouth that sounds like a word, but we're not sure yet if it was just an accident or he really meant it. If I had to guess, I imagine that within two months, he'll be chatting up a storm, but we'll see.
