Sister Visit

I had a WONDERFUL week with my 4 sisters recently. The four of them made the 14 hour drive from various parts of Virginia to St. Louis, where we relived old memories of growing up as they all crammed into one room. Having been away from the family stomping grounds for so long, this visit was especially meaningful for me. It's been a long time since I could bond with all of them together, to hang out together, and to share my life with them. We usually had a nice breakfast then went out for the morning. The afternoons were laid back as the kids (and I, stupid pregnancy) slept, and then my wonderful sisters would cook a nice dinner. We made a lot of great food, including waffles that were cooked in our grandfather's ca. 1920 waffle iron, and the best part is that we didn't have to clean up after our brothers! Thank you to all the sisters for making the trip and to the spouses and offspring (that's you, Matthew) for letting them go!

Here are some of the pictures of us hanging out. The kids LOVED spending time with all the aunties. Aunt Dawn and Aunt 'Nee were the easiest ones to pronounce for them. Emmie would refuse to let me hold her if she was cranky and Aunt Maryellen happened to be in the room. Both loved the individual attention Aunt Caroline gave them. We sorely missed them when they left!
