Stephen Turns One

Stephen spent his birthday afternoon fighting his nap. After much tears, I gave up and took the kids out to play in a snow shower. Much better! He loves being outside and loves snow.




Then, time to wrap presents. I decided to let him "help" wrap them out of necessity -- he doesn't understand presents anyway, right? Maybe not at first, but he DID understand me taking away the toys he was playing with as I stuck them one by one under brightly colored paper. He was NOT happy. By the time we were ready for cupcakes and presents, he was tired and cranky. I managed to get a few smiles out of him with his cupcake.





Then he saw the presents and he knew just what was inside them! He was very happy to have his toys back, thank you very much.
