Four years old

In the midst of everything else that's going on these days, Gregory turned four! Next thing you know, he'll be in school full time. Oh, wait, he is in school full time. Uh, next thing you know, he'll be five!

We decided to get Emmie Jane a gift on his birthday so she didn't have too much of a meltdown:

There she is excited about her My Little Pony. Speaking of My Little Pony, one day we decided to look up the old cartoon on YouTube so Emmie Jane would have something to watch in addition to all the Thomas videos Gregory watches. Those things are trash. I can't believe any parent would let his or her children watch it. Now He-Man? That was pure genius.

So, back to the birthday boy. Here he is opening presents:

He got Big Boy Leggos, you know, the ones that will choke adults who aren't careful and infants. It's a good thing we don't—oh, nevermind. The joke's old. The thing he's holding in the top picture is a set of walkie-talkies, which we thought he would LOVE, but since he can't quite figure out how to hold down the talk buttom, they've sat on the counter pretty much since we've opened them. He also got a Thomas train, the Happy Birthday Thomas train, which is Thomas with party streamers painted on him. We asked him what he wanted, and he said, "I wan Habby Burday Tomis." Who could resist?

Meaghan also made him a cake:

It was good. Gregory eats all the frosting and none of the cake. I'm thinking next year we'll just give him a bowl of frosting with the candles in it.
