Bristol Update

I'm in Bristol now. The traveling from Oxford to Bristol was a bit rushed, so I haven't had a chance to take any pictures. I arrived at the conference about an hour before I was to give my talk. The talk went really well. In particular, I had a good conversation with both Tim, my advisor, and Alexander Bird, a Professor here at Bristol who works on the very same thing I do. Tim's trying to convince me that I am misleading in my statement of my view, and I'm trying to maintain that he's misleading in his statement of my view. Not resolved yet, but a very good and important discussion.

I'll try to take some pictures today of Bristol. Apparently, though, it was bombed pretty heavily during World War II, and so there just aren't as many nice old buildings as there were in Oxford, which (I'm told) wasn't bombed because Hitler wanted it as his after the planned conquest. But I'm also told there are some very nice places around town. We'll see what I can come up with.
