So smart

We've always thought Gregory was incredibly smart. Recently, his intelligence seems to be increasing at a staggering rate. I noticed, for example, that he now knows that in order to get out of the car seat, he first has to get his arms out of the seat belt. Only after I get them out does he thrust his arms out to be picked up. A small thing, but not to me.

Then this weekend I watched something really cool. We have a book called Peak-abo Kitty. On each page there is a flap that you can lift which shows another kitten. Gregory loves this book; everytime we say "peakabo kitty" he gives a belly laugh. So this weekend when I was reading the book to him, I paused each time I turned the page. And what did Gregory do? He reached for the flap! Now, the flap is not obvious, and it's in different places on each page. But Gregory knew where each one was!

How can he not be smart having you and Meaghan as his parents???

As Meaghan pointed out to me, apparently I'm not all that smart: I don't know how to spell 'peak-a-boo'. Oh well.

Isn't it peek-a-boo, since you are peeking through your hands?

Yes, Ms. Pant, it's 'peek-a-boo'. Hopefully Gregory doesn't get his spelling smarts from his dad.
