Conversations with Gregory, the serious version

"Grandma Jacobs is your mom, dad?"

"Yes, that's right, Gregory."

"Who's your dad, daddy?"

"Well, I don't really know my dad, Gregory."

"Why?"

"Well, he wasn't around when I grew up. Some people have two parents, and some people just have one. When I was little, I just had a mommy. My daddy wasn't around."

"Why?"

"Well, it's kinda complicated, Gregory."

"One day, you came home and said, "Daddy? Daddy? Where are you?" And he left. And you were sad."

"Oh, Gregory, that's not what happened...."

"Are you going to leave, daddy?"

"No, Gregory. Daddy will never, ever leave you."

"Will mommy leave?"

"No, Gregory. Mommy and daddy love you very much and we're never going to leave you."

"Yeaaah!! Mommy and daddy won't leave!"
