Determination

We saw Gregory's determination early on. When he decides he wants to do something, he'll do it. These days, he often decides he wants to learn how to do something. To take an example, he'll climb in and out of a basket until he can do it with ease, or he'll fuss and cry if he can't figure it out. Another example, we bought some wooden containers to put some of his toys in to clean up the house. One day he decided to learn how to climb into and out of it.


No big deal. In fact, it was cute. But then he decided he wanted to learn how to climb on top of it.


He's gotten quite good at it. The problem, of course, is that it's not exactly the safest thing for him to be doing. He's fallen off a couple of times already. If he weren't so determined, we could just take him off and give him a toy to play with, but there's no stopping him. What makes it even harder is that when he accomplishing something, he's so proud of himself. Last night he climbed on top of the storage bin, then looked over at us and laughed and clapped his hands. I know I should be more safe or something, but I'd rather just be proud and clap along with him.
